About Dr. Williston

Meet Dr. Lindsay Williston, an esteemed Optometrist and Owner of Kamloops Family Vision Clinic (KFVC), where she has been a guiding force since September 1, 2008. As a seasoned professional and dedicated business owner, Dr. Williston brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate touch to the realm of eye care.

Born in Quesnel, Dr. Williston has called Kamloops home for most of her life. Her educational journey led her from UCC (now TRU), where she obtained her Bachelor of Science, to the University of Waterloo School of Optometry, where she graduated in 2007. Since joining KFVC in 2008, she has been instrumental in providing quality eye care to the community.

From a young age, Dr. Williston harbored dreams of becoming a teacher, inspired by the admirable work they did. However, her path led her to the world of optometry, where she found fulfillment in helping others through vision care.

Described by coworkers as quite quiet, Dr. Williston’s demeanor reflects a focused and thoughtful approach to her work. Guided by the mantra “try to make the most of what you have,” she embodies a mindset of gratitude and maximization of potential.

The most fulfilling aspect of Dr. Williston’s job is bringing relief to those who are struggling with vision issues. Her commitment to patient well-being and providing quality eye care is at the core of her professional journey.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Williston’s pride extends to her most cherished project—her children. In her leisure time, she enjoys the vibrant atmosphere of music festivals, embracing a love for various genres of music and the exploration of diverse cuisines.

An avid reader, the last book that captivated Dr. Williston was “One Second After,” showcasing her appreciation for engaging narratives. When it comes to screen time, she finds comfort in the perennial charm of Christmas movies, the timeless appeal of “Dirty Dancing,” and the enchantment of Disney classics.

Outside of work, Dr. Williston’s favorite activities include hiking with her dog and kids, as well as enjoying the thrill of skiing. While currently not exploring a specific passion, she looks forward to more travel adventures as her children grow older.

Among the memorable places she’s visited, Thailand holds a special place in Dr. Williston’s heart. As for dream destinations, Machu Picchu beckons—a testament to her appreciation for historical wonders.

If granted a superpower for a day, Dr. Williston would choose flight, allowing her to defy gravity and soar through the air—an apt choice for someone who seeks to uplift and provide a clear vision for her patients and, metaphorically, for her own life journey.
