About Dr Li
Meet Dr. Yin Li, our esteemed Optometrist at Kamloops Family Vision Clinic (KFVC), bringing a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for eye care. Dr. Li has been a dedicated member of our team since October 2019.
She specializes in regular and advanced contact lens fittings, specialty contact lenses including scleral contact lenses for the management of conditions such as keratoconus and other corneal degenerations, corneal scarring and transplants, dry eye, myopia control and high prescriptions.
Guided by the sage advice that “the days are long, but the years are short,” Dr. Li approaches each day with a sense of purpose and appreciation for the fleeting nature of time. This wisdom resonates in her commitment to providing comprehensive eye care that extends beyond routine check-ups.
The most fulfilling aspect of Dr. Li’s job is the meaningful interactions with patients, observing their eye health journey year after year. This dedication to patient care reflects a genuine interest in fostering long-term relationships and ensuring the well-being of each individual.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Li is not only a skilled optometrist but also a connoisseur of cinematic delights. The first Matrix movie holds a special place in her heart, along with the lighthearted humor of “Parks and Rec” and the investigative charm of “Veronica Mars.”
When not immersed in the world of eye care or cinematic adventures, Dr. Li has a passion for the sport of pickleball, showcasing a dedication to staying active and engaged in enjoyable pursuits.
Dr. Li grew up in Ontario, completing her Bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences at the University of Western Ontario in 2008 and her optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in 2012. She then spent several years working and teaching at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, as well as in Vancouver. Dr. Li completed a residency and has a special interest in the area of specialty contact lens fittings for the management of conditions including keratoconus, corneal scarring and transplants, dry eye, myopia control, and high prescriptions.
Dr. Li’s global perspective on eye care is highlighted by a memorable trip to Jamaica during optometry school, where she contributed to eye care initiatives. As for dream destinations, the Maldives tops the list—a testament to her appreciation for both professional and personal adventures.
If granted a superpower for a day, Dr. Li would choose teleportation, expressing a desire for instantaneous travel from one location to another—an apt choice for someone who values efficiency and seamless connections.
